How you respond to the challenge in the second half will determine what you become after the game, whether you are a winner or a loser. -Lou Holtz

I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Carleton College, a foody, a sports nut, and mom to a beautiful baby girl, Yasmin, and two cats, Taz and Bugs. I love to travel to outdoorsy and/or unusual places, preferably where I can hike or scuba-dive. I've been married to my best friend, Michel Dalal, for nine years. I live in Minnesota where I dream about summer and shiver through the winters, trying to embrace my inner Eskimo.

The picture at the top is of me eating tapas in Barcelona, Spain. Good food, good wine, in a gorgeous setting....life just doesn't get any better! (More pictures from that trip can be found here.)

My research and technical interests include computer networks, measurement and performance analysis, multimedia, technical literacy, and gender equity in the computing fields. I used to maintain pages about Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD), which you can still find at this site. Note that I do not actively maintain these anymore.
