Sports, sports, sports!

One of my great passions in life is sports. I am a sports nut. I love to play sports, I love to watch sports, I love to talk about sports....you get the picture. Below are links to some of my favorite sports sites on the web.

Notre Dame sports. Of course I'm loyal to my alma mater! I've been a fan of ND sports since I was a pre-teen (which is when I really became interested in sports). My favorites are football, men's hoops, and women's hoops. This page is one of the most comprehensive pages of ND sports links and ND links in general. If you can't find it here, it probably doesn't exist!

Football. I am a huge football fan. I can spend hours in front of the TV on fall weekends! My favorite pro team is my hometown team, the Buffalo Bills. They'll get back to the Super Bowl someday...and win! This site is one of my favorite unofficial Bills sites.

Baseball. As a kid, I was a Toronto Blue Jays fan, like my grandfather. Toward the end of my college days, I became a Chicago Cubs fan. I've been a Cubs fan ever since. (I even got to tour Wrigley Field on my birthday one year...now that was a great present!)

Volleyball. I play volleyball a little bit (not very well), but I enjoy watching it too. My favorite team is the Stanford women's team. There is no better atmosphere for volleyball than at Maples Pavilion! Now that I've moved from California to Minnesota, I've been cheering for the local teams: Minnesota and Carleton.

Hockey. I am a big fan of the Buffalo Sabres.

Swimming. Swimming is my absolute favorite sport. I enjoy swimming, but I also enjoy watching swimming. I get my news from USA Swimming. I'm always looking for new ideas for swim workouts; US Master's Swimming has a discussion forum where you can exchange workout ideas with others.

Hiking. Hiking is a sport I really enjoy, and living in California gave me ample opportunities for it. I used to live a half hour away from some great hiking places (check out the pictures!). I hope to find some equally great places to hike here in Minnesota.

Cycling. I used to be a runner, but bad hips and knees have pretty much put an end to that. Of course I needed an equally crazy/addictive sport to take up in its place, and so this past summer I bought my first road bike. And let me tell you, I'm hooked. I don't think I'll ever be as devoted (crazy) as Michel, but I am looking forward to many more days of biking next spring, summer, and fall.
